They Don't Make Highlight Reels Any Better
I mean, does it get any more deep south than this?
Pete Boone, take advantage of that bigassed, HD video board and play this pre-game for South Carolina this weekend. Oh, and lose the white trashassed Kid Rock crap.

ReplyDeleteWhat's gay? Elvis? Dixie? The South? Ole Miss beating A Top Five Florida?
ReplyDeleteYou bite your tongue, you Judas.
The King singing about Dixie...I'm not looking away...priceless
ReplyDeletewormburner may have used the wrong word, but he's on the right track.
ReplyDeletegay and/or CLASSIC
ReplyDeleteHeard a guy put out a wonderful cover of this at the stage bar at a Tunica casino a few years ago...damned if I can't remember his name, but it was so good, people (black and white, mind you) even stopped playing for a minute to stand and applaud.
ReplyDeleteWormburner, you can kiss our collective Southern halves.
let me clarify...dixie rules...elvis rules to some people...but not to me...ole miss's win over florida is awesome...however highlights of said win set to elvis (no matter what he's singing) is lame
ReplyDeleteGerry, it's the song, bro. The music is bigger than the man, just like being a Southerner is so much more than waving a Confederate flag.
ReplyDeleteoh stop trying to make it bigger than it is. its not about heritage, its about a youtube highlight video with a poor choice of music. college football highlights are supposed to be set to metal or rap...not my mom's record collection. i don't make the rules.
ReplyDeleteDon't look now, Gerry, but metal and rap suck. (save Metallica) This was refreshing, considering Ole Miss' ties to that song and Elvis' ties to North Mississippi.
ReplyDeleteYou and your Bama brethren can rock some highlights to Winger, GWAR, or Lil' Wayne...whatever floats your tider boat.
i will not stand by and let you sully the good name of kip winger!!!
ReplyDeletelook, do you think anyone in ole miss' locker room has this cranked on their ipod during pregame to get jacked up?? then its probably not fit for a highlight video.
that's all i have time for on this subject as i'm making a highlight video from the bama/georgia game to steely dan's "deacon blues." my dentist office let me borrow the cd.
I have to agree with Gerry and the worm...cool song after a win, not suitable for a highlight video.
ReplyDeleteI sat in the Swamp last Saturday wondering why the hell Ole Miss can't play better "get pumped up" music before and during the game.
I'm sure the black football players at Ole Miss would really dig this rendition of Dixie and go fight their asses off for the Old South.
ReplyDeletehahaha, i'm just keepin it real!
