Bama's Back...Again...No Seriously, Asshole

If magazine covers added up to national championships, consider this "13." Apparently the editor over at SI was the recipient of a Bear Bryant organ back in '83. Jeebus.

Everybody loves an underdog (unless said underdog is wearing a houndstooth baseball cap) ...I call it "The Gump Effect."

[The time Bama was almost back]

  1. That's the problem - at most places 10-2 would be "back," but that doesn't meet the standards at Alabama, so the 2005 cover turned out to be incorrect. It's an almost impossible standard, but that's a good thing. All those Ole Miss and Aubie SI covers don't have to - wait, there never have been any.

  2. I'm sure it doesn't meet Bammer's "standards" but here's the truth...SI knows how to make money.Put Bammer on the cover and there isn't a Bammer on the planet that wouldn't put off buying the baby food to pick up a copy.
    RTR!

  3. There has been an Auburn cover, it was from when Tennessee punched them in the pussy in 1985. Also, Erik, you call it the Gump Effect, wonder what Clemson calls it?

  4. Goddamn, I just scrolled down and realized how much of your life you spend janking on Alabama. You spend more time on that than I do on keeping up with them...and I'm a season ticket holder! Pathetic.

  5. Stephen, we all know that is a lie. hell, he lives in B'ham. I came through there heading for ATL in mid august and heard the Saban Fobes cover story analized about 50 different ways. You people piss yourselves when Nick buys a different kind of shaving cream. So shut your little whiney ass because one damn guy isn't sucking your dick after you mopped the floor with the most overrated football program not located in T-town.

  6. You could paint a turd houndstooth in Birmingham and they'd fly off the shelves...

  8. You guys are real perceptive, picking up on the fact that Alabama football is popular in Alabama. And I can assure you, whether Erik raves or rants about Alabama does not diminish or increase my enjoyment of a win. I guess what I'm trying to say is fuck off, yeah that's pretty much where I was headed with that.

  10. "Alabama football is popular in Alabama."

Yeah, it's kinda how Islam is popular in Mecca. You people are fucking crazy. That's his point and you all continue to prove it every time you comment on his blog.
