SEC Defensive Player of the Week

Dustin Mouzon - DB - Ole Miss

From the Memphis v. Ole Miss game that almost nobody saw (CSS, what?) comes one amazing performace:

9 tackles (one for a loss), 1 fumble recovery, 2 interceptions and 1 touchdown (99 yards).

Dustin would certainly give tons of credit to his defensive line for pressuring the Memphis QB and creating opportunities. Mouzon had as many picks in this game as the entire Ole Miss defense did in 2006 (yeah, the whole season). I don't know if that's more sad or impressive. Just goes to show you how interceptions have everything to do with strong DL play (which was not in the gameplan last year). This is huge because the loss of 6 out of 7 in the defensive backfield caused some major concerns. With previous also-rans like Mouzon making names for themselves...future looks bright.
